Last night VarNet experienced a service outage that put many people out of service for a short period of time.  We are currently working with AT&T to resolve the problem and will post our findings as soon as there are some.  At this point no one is sure what caused the problem.


AT&T Network Engineers will be performing a planned maintenance on San Francisco Gigabit Access Router 9. The work will be performed on 1/18/2010, during the maintenance window of 12:00AM-6:00AM, local time. AT&T's goal is to successfully complete the task and restore service within the stated time frame.

AT&T Network Engineers will be performing an IOS upgrade. 





VarNet has received notice of a planned PG&E outage on December 18, 2009 from the hours of 9:00am until about 2:30pm.  This outage will be service effecting to all VarNet customers who do not have alternative power.  VarNet encourages all of its customers to turn off their computers and other hardware to avoid the possibility of a power surge once service is restored.
